DWIA Names Jan Hylleberg New Managing DirectorDate Posted: August 28, 2008 Jan Hylleberg will be named Danish Wind Industry Association's (DWIA) new managing director on Sept. 1. Hylleberg leaves a position as assistant general manager of The Danish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry. "Jan Hylleberg comes from an industry very similar to the wind industry in many ways. Like the pharmaceutical industry, the wind industry is also strongly regulated with similar challenges like the need to demonstrate, test and develop products," says DWIA President Peter Brun. "We need to work closely with the local and national politicians to ensure stable framework conditions, so the industry can keep the competitive edge on international markets." He also emphasizes the important job of continuing to develop and improve one of the strongest industry associations in Denmark. More than 400 wind related companies are located in Denmark. Adding a leading research and education environment, Denmark houses a unique competence cluster in the global wind energy community. "The climate conference will give international decision makers a demonstration of how Denmark integrates 20 percent wind-generated electricity - posing wind as one of the key solutions in the global warming discussion."
