Date Posted: March 8, 2010

Chattanooga, TN--Signal Wind Energy, a major design/build general contractor in the North American renewable energy industry, has changed its name to Signal Energy.

The new name was created to incorporate all branches of the growing company: Wind, Solar, and Biomass. Along with a change of name, Signal Energy has also introduced a new logo and brand image.

Signal Energy is a national leader in the renewable energy field as shown in its expanding capabilities and innovative design alternatives.

The company provides comprehensive design/build services for wind, solar and biomass projects throughout North America.

Signal Energy’s business has grown each year as a result of its ability to engineer and construct renewable energy projects with the right balance of design efficiency, construction cost, project safety and quality, and schedule economy.

In addition to possessing extensive design/build capabilities, Signal Energy is a leader in jobsite safety in the renewable energy construction industry.

Signal’s behavior-based approach to project safety management, which focuses on team building to maintain a positive safety culture, has resulted in superior EMR ratings of less than 0.65 over the last five years and TRIR and DART rankings drastically below the national industry average.

As a direct result of Signal’s comprehensive safety program, Signal did not have any recordable injuries on its construction projects in 2009.

As a subsidiary of EMJ Corporation, one of the nation’s largest general contractors, Signal Energy boasts an impressive track record and solid financial strength.

The company has completed more than 25 full design-build renewable energy projects ranging from 10MW to over 120MW for clients including BP Wind Energy, Chevron Global Power, Valero Energy, Enel, Noble Environmental Power, WKN, Vestas and John Deere Wind Energy.

The company also ranked 25th in the “Top 50 in Power” from Engineering News Record Magazine, and can provide bonding for any renewable energy project.
