Solaya Energy to Develop 1.5 MW Wind Turbine For Town of Scituate, MA

Woburn, MA--The Town of Scituate, MA has designated Solaya Energy to develop a utility class wind turbine to supply clean electrical power to its municipal facilities, according to Scituate Board of Selectman.

The 80-meter 1.5 Megawatt wind turbine will be located adjacent to the Waste Water Treatment Plant and is expected to generate an estimated annual energy production of over 4 Gigawatt hours.

Solaya Energy will design, construct and finance the wind turbine and all associated equipment.

The Town of Scituate will lease the land to Solaya to erect the turbine and the Town will purchase power from Solaya who will operate and maintain the turbine. Solaya Energy is a Massachusetts-based renewable energy company that develops, designs, constructs and operates wind and solar power installations throughout the U.S. and globally.
