Chattanooga, TN -- The Tennessee Valley Infrastructure Group, Inc. (TVIG), an EPC/BOP construction general contractor building wind power plants across the USA, completed construction of the 258 MW Panther Creek wind project, located near Big Spring, Texas.
The combination of TVIG’s completion of both Panther Creek project Phase’s I & II make the project the largest single wind construction project started and completed in 2008, in the United States.
Construction was completed in mid-December 2008, creating a plant which will produce enough electricity to power over 70,000 homes.
TVIG’s team provided the construction of the civil, erection and electrical services for the site, including the erection of 172 GE 1.5-MW SLE wind turbines, electrical collection system, and all roads, and tower foundations.
The project covered a 50 square-mile area, requiring the installation of 67 miles of roads, and 60 miles of underground and 10 miles of overhead electrical collection systems.
